Tree Care & Woodcraft
Soup, cereal, ice cream, any excuse for a wooden spoon
The majority of my spoons are made from Birch, Sycamore and Cherry. These are some of the best woods for carving and also have the best grain patterns and colours.
A round of tree is cut longer than your spoon, then split radially giving a wedge.
Its then worked with the axe into the rough outline and shape of your spoon.
Once you have a 'Blank' its time to play with the knives and finesse it into shape
